You need a little chutzpah

I could craft an entire scrapbook JUST from things I’ve learned and things I love about my friend Ilise Benun.

One of the things she taught me to see different was…my own value, and why that was different from what I was “worth.”

Because, of course, no one can tell you what you’re “worth.” They can only tell you what they’re willing to pay. That’s a whole different thing.

It’s more than semantics; it’s about understanding that your own worth has no sticker price; it’s so profoundly immeasurable that no can.

But what you can do is negotiate for what you will and won’t do.

Ilise calls herself and her business “Marketing Mentor.” And she is that and so much more. But in a lot of ways, she is also a hero. Because she can change how you see your work and yourself–and what’s possible when you combine both.

I’ve been on Ilise’s podcast several times–but this one was special because it’s the first time I’ve been on as an author.

We talk about some of the ideas in the book (which of course I’ve written about her in), including the difference between confidence and…chutzpah.

And how she and I have used the latter to achieve the former. Not by being perfect, but by practicing in public.

Check out the interview. Ilise has such a fantastic voice. Listen for that alone!
