You're not going to solve it all today. (And it's fine.)
When you woke up today, there were problems to be solved.
...This thing is broken.
...This thing smells weird.
...This thing needs to be returned for a full refund.
Then there's...
...This person is mad (I think?).
...That person won't get back to me.
...These people are impossible.
It's endless.
You will not solve it all in a day. You won't solve even most of them.
I consider it a productive day if I mail everything in my house that needs to be mailed. And finally respond on the text threads I'm notoriously bad at responding to.
Wait. Where is dinner again?
Scroll up! OK, OK!

Given how much there is to do today, and how terrifying the news is lately, you can be forgiven for doing all you can to hang onto your state of mind, your sanity, and keep your focus from going sideways off the road.
Easier said than done.
I am (re)reading Napoleon Hill's Think and Grow Rich (the grand daddy of all self help books you'll ever read about money), in which he makes the same point over and over again, and you still need to read the book several times to get it:
We can all nod along to that, sure, sure. You've heard it. But do you believe it? Because if you don't believe it, well, then that's why it doesn't feel real.
I *choose* to believe this. Because I don't see another, better way. Talking myself down and out of things doesn't work. I tried that way.
So what are you thinking about...
RIGHT
NOW?
This is how I keep myself from going down rabbit holes. If at any point I start veering into terror, frustration, or rage, I stop and say:
WAIT.
What most deserves/needs my attention right now? And it's probably not that thing.
I'm great at procrastinating--so I procrastinate the bad, annoying stuff. I put it off and focus on what's critical. At least, I try.
This keeps me from throwing good "money" after bad, attention wise. Every moment counts. And in any moment, your perspective can shift and the world can change. Like that.
AND NOW...
A note to my self-employed peeps, business owners, consultants, coaches, freelancers:
This of course applies to your business as well as your life. Even if you keep singing these same verses:
Everyone's already doing what I do, for longer;
I don't know enough people;
The market is too saturated;
I don't have anything interesting to say;
I can't do anything except what I'm doing and have been doing.
Listen to me right now: There are too many people doing well who aren't half as good as you for you to not try the thing you really want to do.
But sitting there thinking the same thoughts about your work and your prospects, esp negative thoughts? Worst tactic ever.
You don’t need more money, time, or tactics.
What you need is a breakthrough.
